Penn State Faculty Search: Mechanical Engineering and Institute for CyberScience

The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Institute for CyberScience at The Pennsylvania State University in University Park is pleased to invite applications for tenure-track positions anticipated in mechanical engineering at the Assistant or Associate Professor levels. We will consider applicants in the area of energy with particular interest in uncertainty quantification (UQ), data-driven modeling, and optimization.

Successful applicants will have a track record of outstanding scholarly research in the general areas of interest of the Department and the Institute, and will have expressed strong interest in engineering education. Qualification for the position is a doctorate in engineering or a related field that must be completed by the start date in the position. Those considered for the Associate level must demonstrate an established record in research. The successful candidates are expected to teach courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, to develop an internationally-recognized, externally-funded research program, and to contribute service to the operation and promotion of the department, institute, college, university, and profession.
