UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN – DEARBORN Assistant/Associate Professor in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering

The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering at the University of Michigan-Dearborn (UM-Dearborn) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor starting date is September 1, 2020.  Although candidates at the Assistant Professor rank are preferred, exceptional candidates may be considered for the rank of Associate Professor depending upon experience and qualifications. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate the ability to establish an independent, externally-funded research program in their areas of expertise, and who are committed to student-centered undergraduate and graduate education in industrial and systems engineering. The IMSE Department, currently at 17 tenure-track faculty and offers several BS and MS degrees and Ph.D. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. The department prides itself with its commitment to academic excellence, with its strong connections to the automotive industry and with its collegial work environment.

Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have earned a Ph.D. degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related discipline by September 1, 2020.  The primary area of interest for this position is intelligent manufacturing systems with emphasis on digital manufacturing and manufacturing analytics.
