Rowan ECE Invites Applications for Full Time Instructor Positions With a dramatic increase in undergraduate and graduate enrollment, a new Ph.D. program, and a new building that allows us to significantly expand our teaching and research infrastructure, our nationally ranked (#16 in 2022 list of best undergraduate programs) Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at Rowan University is growing. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching innovative and project-based courses in the electrical and computer engineering curriculum. Applicants with expertise in all fundamental areas of electrical and computer engineering are invited to apply, however, our priority areas are as follows: Circuits & ElectronicsDigital and embedded systems, computer architecture,Signal processing & modern communication systems, andControl systems,VLSI Design Electromagnetics The Department greatly values experiential and project-based learning, integrating emerging topics and technologies into the curriculum, and provides an outstanding, state-of-the-art array of equipment, instrument, rapid prototyping, fabrication, and computational resources to support such activities. Our dedication to project-based learning is reflected in our curriculum, as all our courses have lab/project components. As a result, we seek individuals who share this dedication, have the skills and passion to develop innovative hands-on lab projects or other experiential learning activities using appropriate modern tools, and the ability to integrate such projects/activities into the course content. The position also includes service responsibilities, such as helping with the department’s assessment activities. Therefore, any experience with assessment, pedagogy, and scholarship of engineering education would be very valuable (but not required). The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to be involved with student projects in the Rowan Engineering Clinic sequence, and optionally (if interested), contribute to the scholarly activities of our faculty and students. The appointment is non-tenure track, but renewable with multi-year contracts, based on performance, departmental needs, and university and budgetary approvals. Successful candidates joining our family will teach core and elective ECE courses at the primarily undergraduate level, develop innovative curriculum components, including new courses in emerging areas, mentor and advise students as well as student clubs and organizations, help with Department’s assessment efforts, contribute to our service activities to further our collective mission and vision at the department, college, and university levels.
