The Mechanical Engineering Department at Bucknell University seeks outstanding applicants for
an open-rank, tenure-track faculty position starting in August 2020. We seek candidates who show
promise for excellence in both teaching and scholarship, and possess research expertise in robotics,
mechatronics, electromechanical systems, or a closely related technical area in mechanical
engineering.
The Department offers B.S. and M.S. degree programs in mechanical engineering. Candidates are
required to have an earned doctorate in mechanical engineering or a closely related field at the
time of appointment. The candidates should be able to teach broadly across at least one core area
of the undergraduate mechanical engineering curriculum, including required courses and hardware
and computational laboratories, as well as offer senior/graduate elective courses in their area of
expertise. An ability and commitment to pursue an independent research program of high quality
and develop a strong body of scholarship is required.
