Postdoctoral Research Opportunity at NIST

The Biomedical Microtechnologies Group within the Microsystems and Nanotechnology Division at NIST has an immediate opening for postdoctoral researcher in optofluidic flow metrology and cytometry projects.  We are developing new devices and measurement techniques to characterize very small flow rates (Analytical Chemistryin press) and to improve measurement uncertainty of cells in flow (talk at Cyto 2019; proposal under consideration by the NIST director’s office).

We seek outstanding candidates with the following skills and experience:
  • PhD in bio(medical) engineering, chemistry, physics, or related field
  • Microfluidics design and fabrication including photolithography
  • Fluorescence microscopy
  • Mammalian cell culture and cell-based measurements
Highly valued but not required skills and experience
  • Microdroplet generation and measurement
  • Flow cytometry
  • Microfluidic flow modeling
  • Biochemical kinetics
  • photophysics
