The Edison Engineering Development Program at GE Research is an early career rotational program designed for Masters graduates in engineering and computer science interested in applied R&D.  At GE Research, we create new technologies supporting GE products and services in aviation, power, healthcare, and renewable energy.

University of Tennesee – Tenure-Track Position in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering

The Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Biomedical Engineering (MABE) at The University
of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applicants for at least one tenure-track position at the
rank of associate or assistant professor in mechanical or aerospace engineering. Responsibilities
include teaching engineering courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, conducting
research in engineering, developing externally funded research programs, and producing
archival publications in leading scholarly journals. It is expected that the candidate will develop
graduate courses in her/his area of research to complement the departmental growth. A
PhD in mechanical or aerospace engineering or a related field is required at time of the appointment.

The anticipated start date of the new position is August 1, 2020. Salary is commensurate with

ARPA-E Fellowships

ARPA-E is looking for the next generation of scientific leaders to help solve the most pressing and exciting challenges in energy. The Fellows assist the agency in identifying possible breakthrough energy technologies through technical and economic analyses. During their two-year tenure, ARPA-E Fellows influence the direction of American energy innovation, engaging with world-class researchers in academia and industry, entrepreneurs, and government officials. Prior experience in energy and/or commercialization is not necessary.

Responsibilities:

Independent energy technology development

  • Perform primary technical and economic analyses to identify high‑impact technologies and white spaces for the agency.
  • Learn from and brainstorm with experts in a variety of fields.
  • Publish original research papers and reviews.
  • Attend and present at conferences.

Program Director support

  • Help develop future programs through technical analysis, discussions, debate, and workshops.
  • Support existing programs through technical and economic analyses and on-site visits to current project teams.

Organizational support

  • Develop technical content for the ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and vision of the agency.
  • Review proposals for funding opportunities.

ARPA-E Fellows do not perform laboratory research or directly engage in policymaking.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in science or engineering. Students who expect to complete their Ph.D. within the next year are also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
  • Ability to initiate independent projects and work across disciplines.
  • Passion to change the world through energy technology research and development.

MANHATTAN COLLEGE -MECHANICAL ENGINEERING VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Manhattan College invites applicants for a fulltime non-tenure-track position at the visiting assistant professor level, starting as early as Fall 2020. A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required. Washington State University – MULTIPLE TENURED / TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITIONS IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Candidates with research interests in all areas of Mechanical Engineering will be considered, but
priority will be given to candidates whose research interests align with the priorities of the School,

Position Description: The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (New Mexico Tech) invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering positions, beginning August 2020. The Mechanical Engineering Department at Bucknell University seeks outstanding applicants for

 Position The Department of Physics, Geology, and Engineering Technology invites applications for two tenure-track assistant professor positions in an ETACABET accredited program beginning August 1, 2020. We will consider candidates who have achieved ABD status.

The new positions support the implementation of our new Mechatronics Engineering Technology program; this program aims to close the competency gaps identified in our regional workforce.
