Faculty position in Environmental & Ecological Engineering at Purdue University

Job Summary

Environmental and Ecological Engineering (EEE) at Purdue University invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Purdue University seeks to attract exceptional candidates with interests and expertise in Sustainable Industrial Systems. Specific topics of interest include electrification of processes, decarbonization, recycling/remanufacturing, circular economy, sustainable manufacturing, hydrogen economy, green design, and sustainable materials. Applications from individuals with expertise in solid/hazardous waste, air quality, and water are also welcome if their research focuses on these issues relative to industrial systems. Successful candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in engineering or a related discipline and demonstrate potential to build an independent research program, as well as potential to educate and mentor students. The successful candidate will conduct original research, advise graduate students, teach undergraduate and graduate level courses, and perform service at the Division, College, and University levels. This will be a joint appointment between EEE and an appropriate Engineering School as tenure home.

EEE students learn systems engineering techniques to proactively avoid environmental problems to ensure that engineering systems are created that can exist in harmony with the natural world and serve society.
