Post-doc fellowship in the beautiful Portland/Vancouver metropolitan area will conduct finite element (FE) simulation research for aerospace applications. This position requires a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field, as well as background and experience in FE simulation with a focus on material plasticity/failure, manufacturing, and non-linear modeling.
This position is available in the collaborative projects from Professors Dave Kim (https://labs.wsu.edu/dave-kim/) and Hua Tan (https://labs.wsu.edu/hua-tan/) in Mechanical Engineering at Washington State University Vancouver. Responsibilities include participating in a team-oriented project focused on FE simulation technologies for aircraft repair applications; conducting FE analysis of large plastic deformation; modeling the complex material behaviors in FE; and leading research on the future of FE simulations in aerospace manufacturing.
The position is initially available for one year, with renewal dependent on need and/or if additional funding is secured. The position is available ASAP and does NOT require US Citizenship. Salary is competitive and commensurate with expertise and credentials.
Interested applicants are asked to submit their CVs to Dr. Dave Kim, kimd@wsu.edu, directly.
