Mechanical & Materials Engineering Faculty Positions – University of Cincinnati

The University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Engineering and Applied Science invites applications for  multiple Professor – Educator faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate of Full Professor rank in the  Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering (MME). Rank and salary will be commensurate with  the candidate’s credentials. 

The successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate engineering courses in the Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) and Mechanical Engineering (ME) programs. Courses will  cover topics such as mechatronics, robotics, mechanical systems design, motion control, and numerical  methods and will be taught in an online and/or traditional classroom and laboratory setting.  Responsibilities will also include participating in service-related activities such as editorial positions,  student career mentoring, advising of student organizations, serving on departmental, college and  university committees and performing outreach activities; etc. 

In addition, the successful candidates may participate in curriculum and course development, including  distance learning classes and e-learning experiences. Duties will also include advising undergraduate  student project teams such as Robotics and Mini Baja and organizing and conducting technical workshops  on behalf of UC for individuals in the Mechanical Engineering industry. 

Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is required prior to the effective date of the appointment. 

The Department of MME offers ABET accredited undergraduate programs in Mechanical Engineering and  Mechanical Engineering Technology. The department also has graduate programs that confer Master of  Science, Master of Engineering, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Mechanical Engineering and in  Materials Science and Engineering.
