Responsibilities:
•The Senior Reliability Engineer works with system and design engineers to plan and execute the reliability activities to meet overall product reliability, maintainability, and safety requirements for large solar-powered unmanned aircraft
•This position will report to the Airworthiness Manager of the HAPS Business Unit of AeroVironment
•Develop Design for Reliability plan for solar aircraft
•Develop reliability models to allocate reliability and maintainability target for systems and components
•Perform system and component level FMEAs to assess design risks and to identify risk mitigation actions
•Provide design inputs to technical experts to improve product reliability and safety
•Lead fault tree assessments to support System Safety Assessment and anomaly investigations
•Facilitate anomaly investigation to identify root cause and corrective actions
•Manage Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
•Plan and execute Accelerated Reliability Tests, and Highly Accelerated Reliability Tests and report the results to the subject matter experts
•Present at and participate in design reviews and walk-throughs; Demonstrates good presentation skills for internal reviews; Support design reviews and proposal efforts
•Design and develops new and unique analysis and test methods and procedures and educate other reliability engineers and technical experts
•Provide guidance and mentorship to others in both their discipline and on company values
