NTU Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow

NTU invites outstanding early-career researchers to apply for appointment as a NTU Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow. The PPF aims to provide the opportunity for outstanding early career researchers from Singapore and around the world, to conduct independent investigations in any discipline at NTU. This Fellowship provides research funding over two years. There are personal development opportunities coupled with mentorship in an established research group. These conditions will empower the Fellows to strive for research excellence and impact and enable them to meet their ambitions as global research leaders.

PPF BENEFITS
The Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship provides:
A two-year tenure with a salary of SGD 80,000 per year.
A research grant of up to SGD 100,000 per year.
A housing grant of SGD 18,000 per year with eligibility for subsidized apartment accommodation (subject to availability)
Relocation expenses of up to SGD 4,000 (if eligible)
Mentorship and support in an established research group.
Opportunity to work with faculty in mentoring graduate students.
Exposure to the most dynamic and diverse global growth regions.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Within 5 years of obtaining PhD. or equivalent degree
Demonstrable intellectual excellence.
Maturity and capacity to begin an independent research career.
Desire and potential to develop as a future academic leader.
Submit a thoughtful and realistic research proposal
Be available to take up the position no later than 31 Dec 2023.

Air Force Science & Technology Fellowships

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine administers postdoctoral and senior research awards at the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), and the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) under the Air Force Science & Technology Fellowship Program (AF STFP).

We are seeking highly qualified candidates who are U.S. citizens and hold, or anticipate earning, a doctorate in a variety of fields of science or engineering.

The 2023 NOMIS & Science Young Explorer Award!

The NOMIS & Science Young Explorer Award recognizes and rewards early-career M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. scientists that perform research at the intersection of the social and life sciences. Essays written by these bold researchers on their recent work are judged for clarity, scientific quality, creativity, and demonstration of cross-disciplinary approaches to address fundamental questions.

A cash prize of up to US $15,000 will be awarded to essay winners, and their engaging essays will be published in Science. Winners will also be invited to share their work and forward-looking perspective with leading scientists in their respective fields at an award ceremony.

2023 ExxonMobil LOFT Fellowship Program

ExxonMobil LOFT Fellowship


ExxonMobil Corporation, the largest publicly traded international energy company, has partnered with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) to create fellowship opportunities in the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) for Hispanic college students. Through HHF’s Latinos On Fast Track (LOFT) program, ExxonMobil seeks to nurture motivated college students nationwide with a passion for Engineering and Science.

Selected students will be exposed to a top-quality company by participating in this signature mentoring program. Each student will be paired up with an ExxonMobil professional to learn how their knowledge and skills are applied in a corporate setting. 

Fellowship Components
The Fellowship consists of five 1-hour meetings with a mentor (virtual or in person), an exclusive curriculum to introduce Fellows to ExxonMobil and career opportunities, and a $1,000 educational grant. In addition, the possibility exists to interview for ExxonMobil positions (internships/full-time) upon successfully completing the Fellowship.

Fellowship Requirements
This opportunity is highly competitive and open to rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students attending a 4-year college or university.
Fellowship applicants with the following majors will be given priority: 
·       Civil Engineering
·       Chemical Engineering 
·       Computer Engineering
·       Electrical Engineering
·       Geoscience 
·       Material Science and Engineering 
·       Mechanical Engineering

Applicants with these majors will also be considered: Chemistry, Computer Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Petroleum Engineering, and Physics.

Other Requirements:
·       Must plan to pursue a career in the fields/majors listed above
·       Have a GPA of 3.5 or higher
·       Be a U.S. citizen, a legal U.S. permanent resident or have the permanent right to work in the      U.S. Applicants selected are required to submit documentation for U.S. citizenship,  permanent resident or right to work.

DOE’s Office of Science is now Accepting Applications for the Office of Science Graduate Student Research Awards 2023

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science is pleased to announce that the Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) program is now accepting applications for the 2023 Solicitation 1 cycle. Applications are due 5:00pm Eastern Time on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.

SCGSR application assistance workshops will be held on March 9, 2023, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM ET and April 20, 2023, 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM ET. The first workshop will provide a general overview of the program and the application requirements and will include a time for discussing potential research topics with the program managers; register here. The second workshop will guide attendees through the application process, answer general questions, provide guidance on proposal writing and feature discussions with scientists and former awardees; register here.

The SCGSR program provides supplemental awards to outstanding U.S. graduate students to conduct part of their graduate theses research at a DOE national laboratory or facility in collaboration with a DOE laboratory scientist — with the goal of preparing graduate students for scientific and technical careers critically important to the DOE Office of Science mission. The research opportunity is expected to advance the graduate students’ overall doctoral theses while providing access to the expertise, resources, and capabilities available at the host DOE laboratories.

Bridge-to-Faculty (B2F) program at UIC 

The Bridge-to-Faculty (B2F) program at UIC takes successful candidates through a two-year training/mentoring regimen that includes research and some teaching. The candidates are like postdocs, but with some privileges (startup, etc.) afforded by TT faculty. The fellows are independent and can choose collaborators/mentors of their own liking. The areas that the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering is looking to enrich this year include advanced manufacturing, data sciences/analytics, healthcare, human factors, or energy.
