The Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) invites applications for one tenure-system faculty position in Mechanical Engineering at the rank of Assistant Professor. The department is expanding scholarship in advanced manufacturing and design. Specifically, we seek collaborators in areas of:
· Advanced Manufacturing: Additive manufacturing, biomanufacturing, smart manufacturing, hybrid manufacturing, multi-material manufacturing, cyber manufacturing, process sensing/monitoring/control.
· Design: Automation, optimization, and AI-driven design.
Applicants from all other areas of mechanical engineering are also encouraged to apply. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate level courses in the core curriculum and in the candidate’s specialization area. In addition to teaching, the position requires an active agenda of mentoring student scholars and researchers as well as service in the UT Dallas and/or professional community.
