Requirements for the PhD position:
- An Engineering degree (MSc), a Mathematics degree or a Computer Science one, with basic knowledge of Optimization (LP, MIP) and basic knowledge of Machine Learning.
Requirements for the postdoc position:
- PhD in Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science, with advanced knowledge of Optimization (LP, MIP) and basic knowledge of Machine Learning Experience in model development (GAMS or Pyomo)
- At least one publication related to Optimization in an indexed journal.

- Fluent English level, and very good academic record.

Project abstract:
The project will focus on the explainability of Mathematical Optimization models in terms that can be understood by the humans responsible of the decision. The research work will require a theoretical component and a practical one, where the candidate will have the opportunity to get to know the power sector in the applications of the method. He/She will be integrated into an interdisciplinary team where he/she will grow in experience and knowledge in a fast-growing research field that is expected to grow in prominence in the next few years.

Assistant Professor: University of Wisconsin- Department of Mechanical Engineering Position Summary:
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks to fill four new faculty positions in two focus areas (1) machine learning, AI, and data-driven approaches to modeling, simulation, and design; and (2) robotics, controls, and automation.
The first focus area is tied to the topics of data-driven approaches, artificial intelligence, and machine-learning as manifested in design, modeling, and simulation within Mechanical Engineering. The department is particularly interested in candidates whose research in this focus area can address fundamental challenges in topics including but not limited to: topological design; human-centric product design; simulation of large-scale, complex dynamical systems; design of cyber-physical systems; control of dynamic systems; multi-physics modeling and simulation; reduced order modeling; and high dimensional optimization.
The second focus area of interest is tied to the broad topics of robotics, controls, and autonomous systems. The department is particularly interested in candidates whose research is focused on the design, modeling, dynamics, and control of robotic systems. Research in these areas would lead to

The College of Engineering and Integrated Design (CEID) at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is seeking applications for two Assistant Professors in the field of Manufacturing, Industrial and/or Systems Engineering. The full-time, tenure-track positions, with primary appointments in the Department of Mechanical Engineering will begin in August 2022 and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
We are interested in candidates with strong expertise in any of the following areas: Operations Research, Data Science, Supply Chain Network Design, and Advanced/Intelligent/Smart Manufacturing. Collaboration with government and industry, along with the wide array of centers and institutes at UTSA is expected. Research aligned with national priorities such as decarbonization of manufacturing; securing supply chain networks, bulk power systems, and/or critical infrastructure is desired. In particular, collaboration with the Cybersecurity Manufacturing Innovation Institute (CyManII) is strongly desired.
Optimally, the successful candidates should perform research in cybersecurity manufacturing (Integration of Information/Operational Technologies; Cyber Physical Systems) with a focus on (1) devising novel artificial intelligence, machine learning, and optimization algorithms tailor made for automated processes; and (2) designing integrated supply chain networks to provide a robust methodology for sensor-dense manufacturing environments.
The successful candidates must have demonstrated (1) research competencies and capabilities commensurate with an Assistant Professor appointment level in CEID, (2) potential to lead collaborative teams in federally funded interdisciplinary and/or transdisciplinary efforts, and (3) exemplary dedication to inclusion and diversity in all of its forms. The Department of Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering and Integrated Design at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) invites applications for a tenure-track position to be filled by August 2022. In addition, the university will soon open a new School of Data Science.
